It’s a moving thing, a method of submerging pigments in water. As familiar as a kindergarten coloring book where all you need is a brush and a cup of water. The pigments are free to move around the page, surrounded by more water or by itself to rest in air…it dries to a subtle finish as transparent as a clear day.
We have no control besides the random borders we so softly place in certain spots. It’s not just a moving thing but a freeing thing…just to play and see where the colorful washes blend and saturate. I don’t think it’s so much an art to me as it is a therapy. The ombre makes me swoon every time. It’s light and bare as dandelions. Dreamy in fact. Yes I’m talking about watercolors.
Most of the time I sit, grab my favorite small slanted brush and create random patterns or ombre strips using several colors. I have them in my stash not fully knowing where they will end up but that they will eventually find a project to rest on. I think of these dreamy artful renditions as stars…no two are alike.
This layout came together around the watercolored sheet in a cool peachy, orange tone. Then I thought why not throw a few glitter splatters in the mix. A little sparkly never hurts.
I wanted to keep the layout rather clean and bright highlighting the most special part.
I had so much fun with this layout and playing with my watercolors over the weekend...I had to share! The fun peachy color scheme was the theme of the weekend and I even managed to finish two other layouts and a very bright and colorful mini book!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am very enthusiastic today because I've been thinking of a cute giveaway...I've reached a sort of milestone...200 posts! Yay...me! I never thought I would continue this journey as long as I have!
Until later...More to share soon, have a great day everyone!
Take care!
