I find it hard to believe that it’s the middle of june already. The temps are soaring and the lazy days of summer have arrived. I don’t mind this time of year at all, although after the three long months of summer we are all headed down the slippery slope right into hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
Okay forget I said that…its time to just enjoy the days ahead and focus on having some fun right! I’m all up for that.
Every few months or so I like to take a different approach to things… I’ve heard it develops more connections in our brains or something…and I’m all for making new connections! Ha ha . I think that it’s good to try to keep yourself off balance a bit by challenging the status quo. And I don’t mean anything big just little things, for instance I tried a green monster shake last week and I never thought I would be able to get one down but it was actually good and very good for me…I’m all for getting myself a new blender and making weekly purchases of spinach, kale and yummy fruits and veggies. Shiny hair and more energy…why not give it a try.
For this project I first wanted a different overall feel so I attempted to use a cream cardstock instead of my normal linen vanilla which I’m totally in love with. Months ago I was all about the bright white until I made the switch to vanilla and that made a lot of difference to me so this time the cream, even though is just a wee bit different did somehow create a different mood for me. I love the tone mixed with the spring greens here.
I kept the layering pretty simple on this one using just a few elements including a paint chip sheet and a few chipboard pieces. The little something different I wanted to do here was use some of my stamps in a different way adding another dimension to the layout. I may take it further in the future because this time it was more of an afterthought. And then of course I added the glitter for a bright pop of color!
I had a really fun photo shoot with my niece about a week ago and this was one of those shots that was a mistake but I actually liked it. It shows here beautiful brown eye gazing into the camera. This was my little something different for this week. I'm interested to see where this goes, I definitely want to try the stamping again on my backgrounds in the future.
Hope everyone is having a Great weekend and getting some crafty time in! I really want to do some organizing and get some things completed.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Kim
