I love documenting just regular ordinary days! With camera phones it makes it so much easier to capture them doesn't it? I know most times they are just ordinary moments, we don’t recognized the goodness in them until much later. Sometimes a memory will help bring a smile to my face just when I need it most! We just don’t know how good simplicity is and how these memories help save us over and over again.
It makes it all the more fun to me to save them around some happy shapes and colors. Adding your very own artistic approach makes them more vivid and alive. This is the summer of 2012...the most important time ever!
Did you guys have a great 4th? I think that holiday always says summer has officially kicked in. Time for barbecue's, beach days and plenty of swimming! The older I get the more I appreciate all the seasons for what they have to offer!
For this project I layered a few journal cards and patterned paper around the cutest photo of my niece on the beach...in her mom's shades! I used several copies of instagram photos that I made black and white for a added graphic effect. My favorite part is that A! It adds just the write amount of black.
I've really enjoyed using my own hand drawn elements, I've been working on pages of ideas...More to share soon!
I hadn't really thought about posting this layout because I wasn't entirely happy with it but I adore the photo and that makes it alright and plus it's always fun to experiment! Notice the little splatter card behind the photo? That was actually a watercolor splatter attempt gone bad but I loved this particular section! I had to use it somehow.
-----------------------------
Speaking of simple things I thought I'd share a few cards that I've made...Cards have never really been my thing but suddenly I realized to keep it simple...start simple... with just a few elements. So that's what I did, I kept it uncomplicated and the result was more what I had in mind. I was actually happy with the results this time. That brings my handmade card total to about 10!
These are really pretty simple but they add to my card making skills and the attempt at them doesn't seem so daunting!
I'm off to tear into my kits and goodies for the month and get some assignments completed. I will happily get to work on plenty of crafty things over the weekend!
Thanks everyone for stopping by...Enjoy your weekend!

super sweet and soft.
