I really love these colors. I find myself creating with them more often then usual, maybe it's the neon and super bright colors that make me happy. The gravitation to all things peach and orange started with the heyday collection from Studio Calico and has been on my mind whenever pulling papers for a layout.
You can probably tell I have a love for using strips and this is another page I used different strips of patterned paper, painted pages and color magic paper. I made them appear more light and airy by using sheets of vellum. Vellum is definitely making a comeback. The effect is awesome here over the patterned paper.
The strips of vellum were meant to be sewn but since my sewing machine hasn't been dusted off I chose to use glue on the edges which makes the vellum ripple a little on the ends. That's just what I was going for to added more texture and dimension to the page.
I really like to keep a certain simplicity in my work so you may not see many embellishments that often unless they blend well. There are times when it's all about the details and then sometimes its all about the simplicity.
Sometimes I make pages for me to remind myself of a few things, you have to remind yourself to sparkle because who else will right! Over the past week I did a lot of color studies and painting which is a definite love of mine. I made mistakes and incredible disasters, but I also made some discoveries.
These are definitely interesting times.
Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy!

Outstanding page Kim...really it's just stunning. I am in love with it, but then again, every time I visit your blog I know I am going to love whatever I see. I would put you under "Sparkle" in my book!
