Attempting the unusual, wandering through my art journal, creating scribbles of poetry and words. Scrapbooking and playing with paper always leads me to art and back again. Not too many days go by without me holding a paint brush in my hand. I kind of like it. Trying to step outside of the ordinary because I've been told beautiful things are there.
Hoping to share some colorful pages soon if I could just get my old printer to print...
Here we are three weeks into the new year and all is looking good so far! I might be getting around to moving my body a little more and filling up on veggies more than fries... Most days! And the time to kick it up a notch is here!
I've gotten pretty excited about my artwork lately and practice goes well most days but there are still other days where I question "what the heck I am doing" and "where might this be going", but I usually push those feelings aside and trust the process!
Good things are happening even though there might be radio silence here every now and then. With this new year I'm certainly asking myself in which direction I should take my blog but the one thing I know is I love to inspire... Anyone who will ride this ride with me to stay inspired!
You can find me over on Instagram making it around the color wheel with scrap pages and watercolor florals! See you there...
I wanted to stop in and share a few things. With so much happening over the last few weeks, posting on my little blog has been very hit or miss. The lack of a working computer is definitely a major reason so for the most part I post from my phone which is so super duper easy!
Awhile back I got to work with one of the project life core kits in the Maggie Holmes "Open book" edition and created a few projects. At various stages I've dabbled in PL but it just never seems to stick. But there are certainly other things that could be done with the core kits, all the fun cards included just scream to be used somehow. I created two projects using them.
I did a scrap page using the cards from the pl kit. Also a project life page.
There is an ease and simplicity to working with Project life pages that I really love although I'm not an avid creator of them. One day maybe when I get a better process for printing photos!
The quintessential thing that we all do around this time of year is question the things we are doing and of course how we can do all these things better. I find myself reading article after article on traveling locations, hotels and the best options for traveling more. Along with painting and crafting, traveling more is near the top of my to-do list. I already have my vacation booked for this summer but my mind still drifts to the next thing or place for me to discover. That bug is a hard one to get rid of.
Oh yeah and of course eating healthier! How could I forget that one! I’m the one who will work out religiously for months and then slowly back away and run a bit here and do a few push-ups a bit there. I’ve always admired the person who can keep to a routine for years at a time. I’ve also come to the conclusion that that person’s not me. You work with the things you do best and try not to beat yourself up for the things that you struggle with. I’ve already began working on a few crafty things and just hope that I can get around to sharing from time to time. It would be nice to get back to a regular schedule.
Thanks so much to everyone that came by to leave a lovely comment about Maggie’s New collection! I always look forward to getting my hands on it but I’m always sad too because each collection is so full of fun things to work with and they never get old. I will be back in a few days to announce the giveaway winner! Yay!
Hi everyone, I'm a little late today in sharing this exciting news, I've been under the weather and just trying to make it through the challenges of everyday! Better late than never right! I'm sure you've heard about Crate Paper's new collections and Maggie's new Collection "Bloom" is so pretty and just right for the upcoming spring season!
A new collection from Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper debuting this weekend at CHA 2016.
Bloom was inspired by Maggie's love of flowers and the fond memories she has of being in her grandmother's beautiful backyard garden. You'll find that much of the design in the new collection translates directly from this inspiration, including 6 different floral patterned papers, a stunning gold foil floral on vellum, and a large variety of colorful flowers, leaves and floral accents in the ephemera, chipboard and sticker packs!
Not only is BLOOM perfect for Spring, but it's also designed to coordinate with your everyday memory keeping, gift giving, crafting and more. The collection is filled with lovely feminine icons alongside cute trendy basics such as bows, hearts, labels and tags. New embellishments include 3 dimensional paper flowers, layered fringe hearts, a washi tape book, silicone shapes, mini leather tassels, clear stickers and more! As always, Maggie makes it all shine by layering gold foil and the perfect gold glitter onto many of her products. You will especially love the rich finish of the gold foil washi strips!
Today I'm sharing a few sneak peeks into Maggie's new product line! I'm super excited!
