These fall days, with the exception of their short length, are the best! Pulling out sweaters and scarves for the cooler temps is what I've been waiting for. Just when a slower pace is needed it always comes.
I've been trying to complete lots of projects and stay ahead of my ideas because things tend to pile up and I get overwhelmed every now and then. Getting out of my head and onto some sort of paper or canvas works every time. Using the stencils I talked about in my last post helped quite a bit with that too.
This page was created using a few stencils and cut leaves. I stenciled the leaves over the page using a lot of peach and coral colors. I tried my best to make a page that's not too girly!
This little man of mine turned 12 this weekend and that happened over night. If I could have only one power it just might be to slow down time!
Take time to enjoy this wonderful season, it all moves so so fast!
Hi everyone... I'm slowly getting back into a better groove with completing projects and and even slower groove with blogging! Soooo I thought I'd better stop by and say hello, I have so much to share and a few things coming soon in the works.
I created a few pages just for the fun of it, some using lots of hand painted elements along with a few Maggie Holmes collection elements. I love combining things from all over and making things as well. Some paint, stencils and brushes, gesso and my x-acto knife are all I need to play and create some elements that I may or may not use at some point.
For instance I found a set of leaf stencils in target that had a sticky film on them, which made it so fun to create lots of colorful leaves! I think I made quite a few of them, glittered a few and fussy cut them out.
On most of my projects for the fall I use leaves in some way or another! It's the perfect time to do so!
For the base of my page I used those same stencils to lay a pattern down of a few scattered leaves.
I've infused purple in just about everything lately except for my wardrobe! Ha. But it's an awesome color to play around with. I add white or brown to offset the tones a little too. It's always fun to experiment and see what I might come up with...
Just a quick check in today to share a fun page. Lavender, purple and rust are my colors that I'm loving at the moment (not all together), and I've tried some unexpected color on this page!
Whatever just happens to be on my table at the moment usually comes into play. The fact that I can't have everything out all at once is a sort of constraint in itself and constraints always yield unexpected results. I'm always surprised by the outcome! You can see more here! Maggie holmes has lots of fall inspiration over on her blog from paper to home decor!
