To say that I have a little glitter in my life almost everyday would be an understatement. I can't get enough of the stuff. I'm at my wits end on the cleaning side of it but playing around with my paints and glitter is an absolute highlight of my creative process these days.
I don't know why I decided to go for such an impact on this layout. I think I might have been playing around with this color palette and decided to add my usual water and glue and begin laying down some big splatters. I wanted to see how mixing gelatos and paint would work, how much damage it would do to my cardstock. The paper held up amazingly well, I think because the paint was a thicker consistency and I kept the gelato mixture pretty thick too. If it were more watery I might have gotten a lot more warping. Working with watered down paint and gelatos has gotten the best outcome for me in my mixed media journey!
I thought all the little hearts were fitting for the valentine holiday and went so well with this sweet photo of my son.
I love the creative process of using paints and other mixed media in my projects, it's true love the feeling I have for playing around with different techniques. I wouldn't call myself a mixed media artist but definitely one in training! My first love is paper and being able to meld the two together to create fun projects is everything to me!
Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments and stopping by to say hi! It really does inspire me knowing I've inspired others! Let's continue creating shall we!
